Visits by the children from ‘Little Footsteps’ are firm favourites with residents
The fortnightly inter-action with the 3-4 year olds from the ‘Little Footsteps Nursery’ based in Scarborough, is a firm favourite with our residents. Today was no exception when 12 children practiced some ‘Finger Gym’ with nuts and bolts ably assisted by willing residents who develop strong bonds with the young visitors. Necklaces and bracelets were also made, all of which develop the children’s fine motor skills and builds up their finger muscles. The exercises are also good for the older people as it keeps their hands and fingers supple. Afterwards the children performed a little sing song for a very appreciative audience.
