Residents enjoy fresh fruit and vegetables from our own garden
Residents at Combe Hay enjoy some fresh fruit and vegetables freshly picked from our own garden. Five years ago, gardeners Rob and Paul created a small vegetable patch, the produce of which proved so popular that today the range of vegetables grown include potatoes, parsnips, baby turnips, spinach, shallots, onions, beetroot, runner beans, french beans, cabbage, sprouts, leeks, sweet corn, courgettes and lettuce. From the fruit garden are picked rhubarb, black currents, raspberries, apples and strawberries. Herbs such as thyme, basil, parsley, sage, rosemary and mint are also available from the herb garden. All the produce is collected daily from the garden and used in the kitchen to be enjoyed by our very appreciative residents. Pictured are our gardeners Ben, Paul and Rob.
